Custom poetry, typed up while you wait on a vintage typewriter. This offering is great for any event and is highly customizable to work for weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, office and holiday parties, mixers, you name it! How it works: I'll post up with my typewriter at a poetry station at your event where your guests can visit me for a custom poem on a subject of their choice. After we chat for a minute or two, I'll get to work on my typewriter and then present your guest with their poem, which is theirs to keep! This process usually takes about 5 minutes, and each guest will leave with their personalized poem typed out on cardstock. Often when people approach me they are curious and trepidatious; "What is this about?" "I don't know what to write about!" I love learning about each individual guest, finding out what's been on their mind or their heart, and crafting a custom creation that makes them feel uniquely seen. It's not unusual to have someone tear up when reading their personalized poem. My poems can run the gamut from quippy to heartfelt. I specialize in haiku but love the freedom of free verse. The most important thing to me is to capture the vibe of the person I'm writing for. Each booking includes a free 20-minute call to discuss your specific needs.
