Hello, I'm Noah Shachar.
I'm a poet and writer based in Salt Lake City, UT. You may have spotted me writing poems with my 1971 Olympia typewriter-partner, Ollie, at the downtown farmers market and local pop-ups, outside your favorite boutique or restaurant, or even at your friend's wedding. I began my adventure as a typewriter poet in the early, winter days of 2021, amid the existential bog that comes with graduating from college. I'd received Ollie as a gift, and I figured that instead of clawing my way out of the mud, I might try pulling up a chair and a typewriter and linger a while. Poetry's become a pillar of my creativity and a lens through which I explore love, change, and connection. My style tends toward rhythmic free-verse, with a special affinity for lunes, haiku, and rhyme. I've had my writing published in the Santa Barbara Independent, The Catalyst Arts Magazine, and OlyArts Magazine. Much of my work is available to read on my Instagram profile as well, @inky.fingies.
