Hello, I'm Hannah Monsour.
I am a New York based poet and actor. For nearly three years now I have traveled to weddings, parks, parties and more to write poems for strangers on my vintage 1952 typewriter. You may have seen me writing online, outside the Met Museum, or in Central Park. My style leans free verse (although I will take form requests!) with little white left on the page. The poems I write are catered towards the recipient-- often leading to a tender experience filled with tears and joy. When I am not writing poetry I am working on a film, rehearsing for a play, or recording my podcast, Poking Around, which explores the thin line between comedy and poetry. No matter what I am doing, I am trying best to look closely at the world.
